You can apply for a replacement registration in Connecticut:

Fill out the online replacement application and submit your:
- Full name
- Date of birth
- Driver’s license number
- License plate number and class
- VIN number
Obtain Duplicate by Mail
You may obtain a duplicate registration certificate from the Connecticut DMV by sending in a written request. Please address all correspondence to:

You need to include in your letter:
- Full name
- Plate number
- Type of vehicle
You must also include a $20 check or money order made out to the DMV for the duplicate registration. On your payment, always write down your plate number.

- Your marker plate number
